Wanting the change isn’t enough, because everyone wants to change and so do you.
Setting goals with meaning gives purpose to our mission and gives us a reason why we should show up when we don’t particularly feel like it. Setting specific goals will help fuel your drive and focus.
Foundations of a SMARTER Goal:
Setting SMARTER goals for the first time will take time, the more you do it the quicker you’ll be at it.
VISION BOARD
Nothing builds your discipline and focus like seeing the potential you are capable of achieving.
Creating a vision board & using visualisation techniques are perfect for seeing what you could achieve when you consistently show up for yourself.
When westerners speak of manifesting as being the magic technique that gets them what they want, it's essentially a form of visualisation.
Us Muslims believe manifesting is haram because manifestation is the belief that you are capable of making whatever you want happen (that life is in your control) when we know that’s shirk because Allah swt is the only one who is capable of making whatever he wants happen and anything you achieve comes to you because Allah wills it for you.
When westerners ‘manifest’ something, their whole focus is on achieving this thing. What this means is any decision they make, they are subconsciously consulting their focus and deciding accordingly.
A vision board can be a powerpoint with sounds, videos, pictures, quotes or a poem or a collage. Spending just 5 minutes every morning visualising your vision board can have drastic measures on how you show up for yourself throughout the day.
It isn't 5 minutes of just staring at your collage, it’s 5 minutes of being present, and using as many senses as you can to see yourself on the other side of your goal.
BINGO
Something fun I like to do every year is make a bingo card with all the possibilities and/or goals I think will happen in the year or the month or the quarter and revisiting it often and seeing how many bingos I get by the end of the time period!
It’s a fun & motivating way to get you to work on your goals. I’ve done it for yearly goals and Ramadan goals or for a weeks project I had to prepare many things for!
Use the templates below as your own personal bingo card and feel free to decorate it with emojis that reflect your goals!
