Training Whilst Travelling, Injured or Feeling Sick
Training Whilst Travelling, Injured or Feeling Sick
Injury/Feeling Sick
Whether you train or not in while feeling sick or after an injury is dependant on the gravilty of the situation and the circumstances.
If the case is severe, remember taking time off isn’t going to set you back if managed correctly. The priority is survival and getting you back on your feet and back in action, so stressing about your progress isn’t going to do you much help.
In the case of an injury, notify the coach and we should be able to adapt your training program to accommodate the injury and training the rest of your body.
Travelling
Similar to when you’re feeling unwell, we need to gauge metrics like:
How long you’re away for - we can maybe get away with not training for 1-2 week holidays if absolutely necessary
What equipment you have access to - a hotel gym or local gym or maybe we opt for a home progam for the duration you’re away
Intentions & phase - usually you want to make the most of your holiday and worry less about training so communicating to your coach and getting your program adapted to something like a simpler 2-day program that hits all major muscle groups enough to maintain progress (this is usually the best approach when it comes to holiday training!)
